Contract administration is the process of managing a construction contract from contract award through to completion and close-out.
A contract sets out the legal and commercial framework for a project, but it still needs to be applied correctly in practice. This means issuing instructions, managing payments, recording change, monitoring time, keeping accurate records and following the procedures set out in the contract.
Good contract administration supports successful project delivery. Poor administration can lead to missed notices, payment disputes, lost entitlement, delays and unnecessary claims.
