An Overview of Copyright and Subcontracting under JCT SBC

An Overview of Copyright and Subcontracting under JCT SBC

Level Advanced
Duration 30 minutes

In this module we will finish off one final topic relating to design, specifically the copyright in any design provided by the Contractor.  This will include how it is to be used and what rights the Employer has to use it.

We will then move onto the rules and requirements of subcontracting parts of the Works.  It should be borne in mind that this the Contract not management contracting form, so it is expected that the Contractor will be taking on some of the Works, though it is acknowledged that, in the present day, a large part of the works on any major project are subcontracted.
