An Overview of Defects under the FIDIC Red Book

An Overview of Defects under the FIDIC Red Book

Level Advanced
Duration 30 minutes

In any sizeable project, the chances of the Works being completed perfectly first time is low.  There will inevitably be some defects or minor bits and pieces to complete even after the Works have been handed over to the Employer.

Clause 11 sets out how these defects and works are dealt with, including the period for notifying them, what happens if they are not remedied and how the Contractor gains access now that it no longer has control of the Site.

Accreditations & CPD

This course provides structured Continuing Professional Development (CPD). Recognition of CPD is subject to individual professional body requirements and the learner’s role. This course is not formally accredited unless explicitly stated.

• The overall defects process
• Who pays for remedying any defects found
• When and how the Performance Certificate is issued
• The final things a Contractor must do when it leaves Site for good
