An Overview of Time under FIDIC Red Book

An Overview of Time under FIDIC Red Book

Level Advanced
Duration 30 minutes

Clause 8 of the Red Book covers all matters to do with time, delay and suspension.  It is more detailed than most other standard form contracts, not least as the Programme plays an important role in both controlling the Works and assessing any delays.  If this is not kept up to date, claims for EOTs will become significantly more difficult.  This is one of the most common reasons for disputes arising.

For this reason, the Employer, the Engineer and the Contractor should all ensure that they have sufficient planners available to maintain and review the Programme throughout the Works
