This course provides an overview of the client role under the CDM regulations.

Virtually everyone involved in a construction project has legal duties under CDM 2015. Whatever your role in construction, CDM aims to improve health and safety in the industry by helping you to sensibly plan the work so the risks involved are managed from start to finish, have the right people for the right job at the right time, cooperate and coordinate your work with others, have the right information about the risks and how they are being manage, communicate this information effectively to those who need to know and consult and engage with workers about the risks and how they are being managed.

Learning Outcomes

After studying this course, you should be able to:

• Describe who the client is and their role within CDM 2015
• Detail the client's duty to make suitable arrangements for managing a project covered in regulation 4 and 5
• Explore the duty that a client has to notify the relevant enforcing authority of certain construction projects covered in regulation 6
