A suite of online courses only for Environment Agency NEC Contract users. 

Our NEC4 Academy is a suite of online eLearning courses designed to explain the key aspects of the NEC4 suite of contracts, such as roles and responsibilities; how the key processes work e.g. communications, early warning, the programme, defects, payment compensation events and dispute resolution; and how to effectively set up and implement the contracts. 

    Accreditations & CPD

    This course provides structured Continuing Professional Development (CPD). Recognition of CPD is subject to individual professional body requirements and the learner’s role. This course is not formally accredited unless explicitly stated.

    Suitable for CPD requirements of RICS, CIOB, ICE, and CICES members.

    Learning Outcomes

    The NEC4 ECC training covers:

    • key ECC clauses and processes, including early warning, the programme, defects, payment, communications, compensation events, dispute avoidance and termination
    • how to apply Engineering and Construction Contract (ECC) in practice and achieve satisfactory solutions to problems

    The NEC4 PSC training covers:

    • the philosophy and commonality amongst all the contracts within the suite of NEC contracts
    • the use and appropriate contract strategy to adopt when choosing both primary (A, C, E & G) options and secondary (X1-X20) options
    • considering common amendments that are often made in the form of 'Z clauses' and their potential to alter the dynamics or risk profile of an un-amended contract

    The NEC4 TSC training covers:

    • roles and responsibilities of the Parties
    • the important TSC clauses and processes, in particular, early warnings, task orders and compensation events
    • understand how to apply TSC in practice and achieve satisfactory solutions to problems
