This online course will provide an overview of the UK government's policies and targets for decarbonising the real estate sector, as well as the challenges faced by the industry in achieving these goals. The course will cover the impact of the built environment on carbon emissions, the UK's Net Zero Strategy, and the Heat and Building Strategy, which aims to decarbonise homes and buildings.

By the end of this course, you should be able to:
• Understand the importance of decarbonising the built environment to achieve the UK's net-zero carbon emissions goal by 2050
• Identify the impact of buildings on carbon emissions and the need to reduce both operational and embodied carbon emissions
• Explain the planned measures and targets to decarbonise the built environment, including raising Minimum Energy Efficiency Standards, a mandatory performance-based rating scheme, and installing heat pumps in homes.
