Providing the Works under NEC4 ECS

Providing the Works under NEC4 ECS

Level Advanced
Duration 30 minutes

This course works through the Contractor’s and Subcontractor’s roles and responsibilities under the NEC4 ECS form of contract.  It primarily relates to clause 2 of that contract, but also draws from certain other parts as well.

These are the basic obligations on both parties in terms of undertaking the subcontract works and how to work together.

This section also shows the importance of careful drafting of the Subcontract Scope. One of the quirks of the NEC forms is that they are relatively light touch in terms of detail. This is compensated for by having the Parties set out significant detail in the Subcontract Scope to give meaning to many of the provisions.
