Public Works Contract (PWC) Fundamentals

Public Works Contract (PWC) Fundamentals

Level Beginner
Duration 180 minutes

This programme provides a structured introduction to Ireland’s Public Works Contracts (PWCs) and the key documents and mechanisms that govern how public infrastructure projects are procured and delivered under the Capital Works Management Framework (CWMF).

Across this series of courses, you will build a clear understanding of the contractual framework used in Irish public sector construction projects. Starting with an introduction to the PWC system, the programme then explores the core contract documents that shape how projects are tendered, priced, and executed. You will examine how risk is allocated through the Tender and Schedule, the different Forms of Contract, and the technical obligations defined in the Works Requirements.
