Variations and Acceleration Quotations under JCT SBC 2024

Variations and Acceleration Quotations under JCT SBC 2024

Level Advanced
Duration 30 minutes

At times during the Works the Employer may wish to assess whether it wants to undertake a Variation.  This will most likely be for one of two reasons:

  1. The Variation is not needed but is a nice to have and the Employer wants to know what the cost and impact would be; or
  2.  The Variation is necessary, but it has the option of having someone else do it once the Works are complete

In such a situation, it has the option to seek a Variation Quotation to assess the impact of the proposed change without immediately incurring the full cost.

Alongside this is a separate but linked process for assessing the cost of accelerating the Works.
